Edgewound Resistors
Crohm Series CE edgewound resistors are frequently used for medium-to-heavy-duty braking of variable-frequency drives, speed and torque regulation, crane and transit applications, elevator and mining controls, neutral grounding, and any type of AC or DC load application. They accommodate current ranges between 15 and 100 amps and are available in multiple lengths in 3-inch increments.

Design
A stainless-steel alloy strip is wound on edge into a spring, then installed onto ceramic insulating cores (toothed or smooth). Edge-winding provides efficient cooling in horizontal installations. Terminal connections include 11/32" diameter holes for 5/16" hardware. The steatite porcelain core offers thermal-shock resistance and mechanical strength, with a keyed 3/8" hole for 5/16" threaded rod or flat-bar mounting.
