High Resistance Grounding Systems
Crohm manufactures High Resistance Grounding (HRG) systems for three-phase power systems. During normal operation no fault current flows through the resistor or power system. When a ground fault occurs, the system limits fault current and triggers an alarm. Users can activate a current pulse that cycles between a set magnitude and zero, enabling fault location with a handheld ammeter.

Personnel safety
- Reduces arc-flash hazard exposure by up to 98%
- Minimizes electrical-shock risk from stray ground-fault currents
System protection
- Lowers and controls fault-current magnitude
- Provides a ground-to-neutral connection for three-phase systems
- Prevents thermal damage to cables, transformers and motors
Ground-fault detection & uninterrupted service
- Instant alarm signal when a ground fault occurs
- Optional audible horn or red warning beacon
- Continued operation during controlled faults
- Reduced likelihood of secondary faults
- Diminished transient over-voltage spikes during switching
How to specify
- System voltage
- System type (Wye or Delta)
- Ground-fault current
- Enclosure type (wall mount, free standing, NEMA 1 or NEMA 3R)
- Options or special requirements
Accessories & options
- Ammeter with CT for user interface
- Audible horn or warning beacon
- Timing and/or under-voltage relays
- Portable clamp-on ammeter with carrying case
